Dates, venues and the implications for India, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh. We mark which fixtures are confirmed and which are pending.
The 28 July cluster opens the Asia Qualifier window for the 2026 T20 World Cup. Six fixtures across ten days decide the two slots allocated to the Asian pathway. India and Sri Lanka are the favourites; Bangladesh and UAE are the most likely to contest the third slot.
| Date | Fixture | Venue | Status |
|---|---|---|---|
| 28 Jul 2026 | India vs Hong Kong | Al Amerat, Oman | Confirmed |
| 29 Jul 2026 | Bangladesh vs UAE | Al Amerat, Oman | Confirmed |
| 30 Jul 2026 | Sri Lanka vs Nepal | Muscat, Oman | Confirmed |
| 1 Aug 2026 | India vs Bangladesh | Al Amerat, Oman | Confirmed |
| 3 Aug 2026 | Sri Lanka vs UAE | Al Amerat, Oman | Confirmed |
| 5 Aug 2026 | India vs Sri Lanka | Al Amerat, Oman | Pending confirmation |
The three fixtures that decide the field are the cross-group meetings: India vs Bangladesh, Sri Lanka vs UAE, and India vs Sri Lanka. The cross-group pattern means a single upset reshuffles the table — Bangladesh beating India would put Bangladesh at the top of the cluster, with UAE's match against Sri Lanka becoming the de facto semi-final.
For fantasy squads the implication is the scheduling. A player from the India–Bangladesh fixture has a four-day rest before the next round; a player from the Sri Lanka–UAE fixture has the same. The captaincy call for the multi-game-week is to spread vice-captain picks across the two cross-group fixtures rather than concentrate on one.
The single variable that could invalidate this read is the toss pattern at the Al Amerat venue. Oman surfaces have a higher first-innings winning percentage than the global T20 average because of the dew factor in the second innings. If the toss pattern breaks, the standings maths changes quickly.
We will update this page with each confirmed result and the standings revision. The next update is 28 Jul at 18:00 IST.
